Sexual Safety

Our Commitment to Sexual Safety at Whitehall Medical Practice
At Whitehall Medical Practice, your personal safety, dignity, and peace of mind are central to the care we provide. We are dedicated to ensuring that every individual who visits or works within our surgery feels fully respected, protected, and supported.
As part of this ongoing responsibility, our practice has formally adopted the NHS Sexual Safety Charter. This nationwide initiative establishes a zero-tolerance framework against sexual harassment, inappropriate conduct, and sexual misconduct within all healthcare environments.
What We Commit to Under the Charter
By pledging our support to this national framework, our surgery actively enforces the following standards:
    • A Respectful Culture: Maintaining a clinical environment that is entirely safe, welcoming, and inclusive for patients, visitors, and colleagues alike.
    • Rigorous Professionalism: Setting and upholding clear, unambiguous boundaries for professional conduct among all personnel.
    • Safe Reporting: Providing secure, confidential, and accessible channels for individuals to voice concerns without fear of judgment or reprisal.
    • Unwavering Support: Standing by and protecting anyone who comes forward to report inappropriate behaviour.
    • Staff Education: Delivering comprehensive training to our team regarding professional boundaries and sexual safety protocols.
    • Robust Safeguards: Regularly updating our internal policies and workplace procedures to maximize safety for both staff and the public.

Ongoing Staff Training
To ensure these principles are woven into our daily operations, every member of our practice team is completing the official NHS e-learning module, “Understanding Sexual Misconduct in the Workplace.” This ensures our staff are fully equipped to maintain the highest standards of professional ethics and patient protection.
How to Raise a Concern
If you ever experience or witness any behaviour at our practice that makes you feel uncomfortable, distressed, or unsafe, please report it to a member of our team as soon as possible. We promise to listen to you, take your experience seriously, and provide you with full support.
