Why have I been referred to a pharmacy for a consultation and not a GP?
Whitehall Medical Practice are now in collaboration with pharmacists all over Rugby. You may be instructed that you have been referred to a pharmacy; This is offered to the patient when a GP/Clinician has assessed their medical condition via online/telephone/in-person consultation, and has concluded that a pharmacist with a vast knowledge of a variety medications will be best suited to find the right medication for the patient’s condition.
What is a Pharmacist?
A pharmacists primary roles include; ensuring that the supply of medicines is within the law. Ensuring that the medicines prescribed to patients are suitable. Advising patients about the medication they are/will be taking, alternatives that can be provided, how to take them, what reactions may occur and answering patients’ questions.
